lukiit ("we," "us," or "our") collects information you provide directly, such as your ZIP code when you search for deals. We do not require account creation or collect personal information to browse the site.

  • Location data: ZIP codes you enter or GPS coordinates if you grant browser location access. This data is stored only in your browser's localStorage and is not transmitted to our servers.
  • Usage data: Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for analytics and security purposes.
  • Cookies: We use session cookies for admin authentication only. No tracking cookies are set for regular visitors.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Show you restaurant deals near your location
  • Improve site functionality and user experience
  • Monitor and protect the security of our services

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

lukiit uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Nominatim / OpenStreetMap: Used for reverse-geocoding GPS coordinates to a ZIP code. Your coordinates are sent to Nominatim's servers only when you grant location access.
  • Google Places API: Used to populate restaurant data (names, photos, ratings).
  • Amazon S3 + CloudFront: Used to host deal flyer images.
  • MongoDB Atlas: Our database provider, hosted in the United States.

4. Data Retention

Location data you enter is stored in your browser's localStorage with no server-side retention. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings. Web server logs are retained for up to 90 days.

5. Children's Privacy

lukiit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with the revised date.
